About the role:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and General Manager, this newly created role offers a unique opportunity to join the senior leadership team and influence key company decisions. As the Financial Manager, you will be instrumental in streamlining and enhancing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  
Responsibilities:
  • Drive the development and execution of financial strategies to support company growth and profitability.
  • Supervise budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting.
  • Create and manage a financial risk framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, including the management of internal controls and insurance policies.
  • Oversee daily cash flow management, bank reconciliations, and maintain adequate liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Supervise the preparation, distribution, and follow-up of invoices to secure prompt payments.
  • Implement and oversee financial systems, ensuring proper checks and controls for significant expenditures.
  • Manage the transition to and ongoing operation of financial software systems.
  • Monitor and control company expenses, reconcile financial records, and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, providing strategic financial insights to support business planning and growth.
  
Skills and Experience:
Ideally, you hold a CA or CPA qualification with proven experience in an SME that has undergone significant growth. You are a seasoned Finance Manager or Controller with a strong background in process improvement, and experience in the construction or infrastructure industry is highly valued. Success in this role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the broader business and senior management. Proficiency in Xero and intermediate Excel skills are advantageous.
