The Role:
Reporting to the Australian CFO and working closely with the executive, you will assume responsibility for developing and delivering a highly effective finance function. The Financial Controller has primary responsibility for oversight of all financial aspects and all accounting reporting streams necessary for the functioning of the Australian operations, ensuring accurate accounting and providing high-level analytical capability in financial planning and reporting.
Key tasks will include:
- Team Management including mentoring and staff development
- Working closely with Executive to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities
- Preparation of timely and accurate financial statements and annual reports
- Developing financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and opportunity forecasting
- High-level financial reporting and analysis, including measuring company performance against external and internal benchmarks
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law, taxation, and financial regulations
- Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business
- Maintaining relationships with external auditors and banks
- Improve financial literacy across the organisation
You are CA/CPA qualified with highly developed technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, along with proven experience managing complex and high-level stakeholder relationships. You are a big picture thinker who can reason at a conceptual level, while still maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Crucially, you are a natural leader with a strong depth of experience in managing teams and have the confidence and credibility to engage effectively and build relationships with senior executives and operational stakeholders.
