About the role 
An opportunity has arisen for a strong technical all-round Group Financial Controller to join a well-established organisation who are going through a period of change and development. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Taking a hands-on approach, this role will see you lead a small team, providing supporting, coaching, and mentoring to deliver best practice. You will take full responsibility for delivering all internal and external reporting with a focus on working closely with the Commercial side of the business and stakeholder management. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

The responsibilities
The main duties include:
  • Take ownership of all financial reporting and analysis
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting packs
  • Leading the Annual Budgeting process from end to end
  • Preparation of half year and full year financial statement and investor presentation
  • ASX and compliance reporting including IFRS and AASB standards
  • Management and preparation of direct and indirect taxes
  • Cash flow template set up and management
  • Carriage of central corporate overheads in conjunction with support service owners.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
  • Developing financial reviews and providing investment advice
  • Working closely with management or executive teams on analysis and improvement plans.
  • Well-developed leadership skills
  • Mentoring of staff & peer group
  
The successful applicant will have:  
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Prior experience in financial reporting or audit roles, preferably within a large corporate or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, AASB, and corporate accounting principles.
  • Experience with financial consolidation in a multi-entity organization.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems (i.e. Essbase, Hyperion, OneStream etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
