This is a key leadership role looking after the financial control function reporting to the well-regarded CFO. Managing a small diverse team, you will be a hands-on operator responsible for the overall financial control function relating to tax, reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of policies and procedures. This role requires an experienced individual from a Financial Services, Energy or Regulatory background who knows what good looks like and is motivated to create a best in class control function.
Duties
- Lead and mentor a small team
- Oversee the financial control team and help drive improvements
- Manage the month-end timetable ensuring accurate and timely deliverables
- Oversee the preparation of P&L, balance sheet & cash flow in accordance with AASB and audit requirements
- Manage all accounting operations including payroll, fixed assets and working capital
- Ownership of GL accounts and reconciliations in-line with external audit expectations
- Lead the development and maintenance of financial accounting policies and procedures
- Contribute to the preparation of board, regulatory and statutory reports
- Manage tax compliance including development of tax strategies
Skills and Experience
- CA / CPA Qualified
- 8+ years finance experience managing a control function
- Prior experience in Financial Services / Energy or similar preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards
- Excellent communication to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders
- Self-motivated to drive function improvement and grow the team
