This large, well established multinational organisation provides extensive services to the engineering, utilities, mining and energy industries on a large scale. They have enjoyed a period of sustained growth, acquisitions and are looking to continue to expand their service offering into new locations and industries. They are now looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant to join their friendly and supportive team!
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the month end closing including posting journals, running and uploading reports from the ERP and doing month end analysis.
- Overseeing the maintenance of the fixed assets register and related journals.
- Monthly preparation of inventory and WIP journals.
- Reconciliation and accounting for freight costs and related charges such as customs clearance, wharf charges and other duties.
- Preparing all designated month-end balance sheet reconciliations by the due date and ensuring that reconciling items are promptly resolved and cleared.
- Supporting with the preparation of monthly management reporting package including variance analysis.
- Preparing the Payroll tax and FBT Returns.
- Assist with audit and internal control related queries.
Tertiary qualified in an Accounting related degree, you will possess prior experience within a similar commercial organisation or chartered accounting firm. In addition, you will have intermediate MS Excel skills. Interpersonally, you are bright, hungry to learn and display a willingness to assist the wider team.
