Sharp & Carter have exclusively partnered with an organisation based just south of the river in Perth, roughly a 15-20 minute drive from the CBD. We are assisting in the recruitment for a newly created role of Financial Accountant.

Key Responsibilities
As the Financial Accountant you will take ownership of the following:

  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Conduct reconciliations and finalise accounts at the end of each period.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST, PAYG, and corporate tax reporting.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Analyse financial performance, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet items.
  • Identify efficiencies and implement improvements in financial reporting and accounting processes.
  
Your Profile
To excel in this role, you’ll bring the following qualifications and attributes:

  • CPA or CA qualified with a strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within a medium to large organisation or a chartered firm.
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes, with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and senior management.
