As the Financial Accountant you will take ownership of the following:
- Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Conduct reconciliations and finalise accounts at the end of each period.
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST, PAYG, and corporate tax reporting.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Analyse financial performance, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet items.
- Identify efficiencies and implement improvements in financial reporting and accounting processes.
Your Profile
To excel in this role, you’ll bring the following qualifications and attributes:
- CPA or CA qualified with a strong understanding of accounting standards.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within a medium to large organisation or a chartered firm.
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes, with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and senior management.
