A business critical role with a global industry-leading Manufacturing / Service organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Finance Manager's position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on both a domestic and international scale. Initially this will be a 4 month contract role, however there is the genuine view for this role to be extended and/or made permanent (given a permanent headcount is available). There will also be a minimal requirement for interstate travel (once per quarter to QLD).
The responsibilities
Reporting directly into the CFO, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Manage the month end process ensuring that results are delivered within required time frames.
- Analyse and communicate results compared to budget, forecast and previous year. Provide insights to aid in decision-making and identify trends that may need further investigation and/or correction.
- Lead a team of 3 staff; proactively providing guidance, advice and support
- Working closely with all business units & team members within the organisation to provide assistance, direction and understanding complexities within the business.
- Ad-hoc analysis, project involvement & responsibilities as required
- Work with stakeholders for any changes or additions to be setup, ensuring that they flow through to the correct general ledgers and if required, arrange for test scenarios to be completed and checked.
- Work with field operations & admin in relation to changes in commercial; ensuring that they have been correctly set up in JDE and fully communicated across the various stakeholders.
- Drives continuous process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and robust internal control
- Lead ad-hoc projects as directed by the CFO
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, proven inventory accounting experience & knowledge, and have worked in a large-scale, dynamic Manufacturing / Service organisation or Manufacturing / Service environment previously.
