This position sits within a large finance team who acts as a strategic business partner to the board and shareholders. The finance manager will play a crucial role in driving the commercial direction whilst ensuring strong internal controls.
The responsibilities
Reporting directly to one of the most dynamic and experienced CFOs in market, your role will encompass both financial and management reporting for a large business unit. The core priorities will be business partnering with department heads, providing key financial insights and reporting on business performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively lead a team of 2 direct reports – helping their career development and providing opportunities for growth
- Lead month and year end close for an entire business unit.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared, checked on a monthly basis and any variances are fully investigated and clearly identified
- Complete routine journal entries to the accounts on a weekly, monthly basis as required
- Partnering closely with all business units & team members to provide assistance, direction and understanding complexities within the business.
- Manage and plan with the collaboration of business units leaders the budget process and forecast process.
- Analyse and communicate results compared to budget, forecast and previous year.
The successful applicant
You will be a CA/CPA/CIMA or similarly qualified accounting professional and a commercially astute individual. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a proven track record of strong commercial business partnering and have the ability to effectively communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders. Prior experience in an FMCG/Retail or Service based environment will be considered highly advantageous.
