Our client is leading a critical project to enhance the communication capabilities of emergency service vehicles across Queensland by installing advanced Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs). These systems are essential for ensuring real-time communication between vehicles, demand centres, and other devices on the network. We are seeking skilled Service Technicians to support this important initiative.
Role Overview:
As a Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for the hands-on installation of electronic systems in emergency service vehicles throughout Queensland. This role requires extensive state-wide travel. Your work will involve the setup, testing, and maintenance of electronic equipment to ensure these vehicles are fully equipped and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install electronic hardware in emergency service vehicles, ensuring precise and safe setup.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues as they arise.
- Assist in maintaining documentation, including installation manuals and reports.
- Manage stock and assist with inventory control as needed.
- Adhere to safety regulations and ensure compliance with OH&S guidelines.
- Hands-on experience in low-voltage electronics or automotive roles.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly with hardware.
- High level of computer/technology acumen.
- Previous experience in a field service role is beneficial, but not mandatory.
