About the Position

Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Group Manager People, Culture and Organisational Performance will support the overall stewardship of Council by working in partnership and collaboration across the organisation to deliver strategies, quality operational services, projects and initiatives.  This will include overseeing corporate strategy and business transformation, health, safety and wellbeing and the human resources functions of Council.

You will be an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and be instrumental in the future success of Council through visionary leadership and focusing on safety, performance, financial sustainability and continuous improvement. This will be achieved through promoting a values-based culture and delivery of targeted human resource policy, strategy and advice to enable employee growth and capability.

In addition, you will oversee projects relating to cultural change, attraction and retention of talent, enterprise bargaining, psychosocial safety and corporate planning. This role will provide expert advice, reporting and service to the Mayor, CEO and Councillors in a complex legislative system and sensitive environment.

About the Person

We are seeking a highly experienced human resources executive with extensive knowledge of contemporary HR and WH&S concepts, business transformation, strategies and legislation who can integrate into corporate strategies which balances employee needs with organisational outcomes.  In addition, you will have previously led a large and diverse HR team in a complex organisational setting and have a broad understanding of emerging trends across WH&S, IR, organisational development, performance management, strategy and transformation, attraction and retention and HR information systems and technology.

Key to your success will be exceptional communication and negotiation skills, high levels of resilience and an ability to effectively build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including executives, operational staff and elected officials.  In addition, you will possess demonstrated success in leading and building organisational capability and change management experience across restructures and cultural change programs.
