Divisional Sales Director – Sponsorship Sales | Sydney (On-Site 4 days)

A dynamic and rapidly expanding organisation within the B2B events industry in the APAC region is seeking a high-performing Divisional Sales Director to join their leadership team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving commercial growth and mentoring a talented sponsorship sales team.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director APAC, the successful candidate will act as the second-in-command (2IC) and will be instrumental in shaping team strategy and supporting the overall success of the sales department. This leadership position is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record of success within the events sector, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing others, driving revenue, and building strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the 2IC to the Sales Director, contributing to team strategy and overall sales department success.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 Sponsorship Sales Managers.
  • Provide strategic guidance, regular performance feedback, and coaching to empower individual and team achievements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, ensure accountability, and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance sales culture focused on growth and excellence.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the APAC region, with a focus on establishing long-term partnerships.
  • Step in to directly engage with clients during team absences or as needed to maintain team coverage and continuity.
  • Track key sales metrics and performance data within CRM systems to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align team strategy with overarching company objectives.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • Demonstrable experience managing a sales team in a target-driven environment, ideally within the B2B events industry or a similar sector.
  • A strong personal history of exceeding sales targets and securing significant partnerships.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing talent within a dynamic team setting.
  • Strategic commercial acumen and a consultative, relationship-focused sales approach.
  • Knowledge of the APAC event landscape (highly desirable).
  • Willingness to travel and represent the organisation at key industry events across the region.
