About the role
You will be a crucial member of the Operations team, ensuring best-practice compliance as they continue to grow. Your expertise in regulatory frameworks will ensure that their customer-facing and internal processes are both compliant and tailored to their innovative approach as a leading technology company.
You will enjoy delving into detailed processes to identify and implement improvements, working closely with their Accounts & Compliance Manager and Legal Counsel as needed.
- Compliance Function Ownership: Oversee the client’s Operations compliance, ensuring customer support and internal processes adhere to energy regulations in collaboration with the Operations team.
- System and Policy Review: Conduct periodic reviews to identify improvements and ensure ongoing compliance, applying scalable solutions to enhance customer experience and reduce costs.
- BAU Compliance: Prepare regulatory reports, respond to ad hoc regulatory queries, manage complaint and Ombudsman cases, and guide Operations teams on managing vulnerable customers (e.g., financial hardship or domestic violence).
- Compliance Culture Champion: Foster a compliance-centric culture within the organization.
- General Support: Contribute to general customer service and BAU tasks as needed.
- Experience: 2-4+ years in a compliance or operations role within the energy, finance, or telecommunications sector.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks. Experience within electricity retailers in the National Electricity Market is helpful, but this knowledge can be acquired on the job.
- Analytical Skills: Keen attention to detail and a willingness to dive into operational processes to identify and improve issues.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple impactful projects simultaneously.
- Teamwork and Independence: Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
