Reporting to the CEO and board, your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Re-establish and maintain the GL, ensuring proper categorisation and reconciliation.
- Oversee completeness and accuracy of the General Ledger (GL).
- Prepare monthly management reports.
- Utilise Shopify for sales tracking and financial data.
- Implement stocktake procedures and integrate into cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Review existing financial processes and identify inefficiencies.
- Work within Xero for daily bank transaction reconciliations.
- Document key financial cycles (sales to receipt, procure to pay, revenue and expense categories).
- Ensure correct accounting practices and compliance.
- Integrate all financial data into the ledger, addressing legacy inaccuracies.
- Collaborate with leadership on financial decision-making.
- Provide recommendations on optimising financial structure for business scalability.
To be successful in your application, you will be CA/CPA Qualified with 5+ years experience in an SME environment, managing end to end finances within businesses of up to $10M revenue. You will possess strong technical accounting knowledge and system implementation skills, as well as have the ability to work autonomously to establish best practice.
