An exciting role with a national industry-leading Transport & Infrastructure business currently exists in order to fill a key role in their team. This hands-on Commercial Manager position will have a strategic focus in reviewing existing current contracts that are in place, with a focus on critically-assessing controls, governance and risk. Following this, having a focus on process improvement, analysing and fixing what has been identified. Initially this will be a contractual role, however there is the genuine view for extension and/or permanency given the growth trajectory of the organisation.
The responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for:
- Critically-reviewing and analysing the governance, risk and controls in current contracts
- Having a commercial interaction with the contracts; proactively fixing potential errors and faults in current contracts
- Re-building commercial workbooks and implementing positive change
- Extensive financial modelling (mainly out of Microsoft Excel)
- Cross-functionally business partnering with a variety of stakeholders
- Actively participate in the commercial team by helping to facilitate organisational education and information sharing.
- Be involved in ad-hoc projects to improve processes or improve operational performance
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally; you will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy collaborating with your stakeholders, have proven experience working with contracts and proactively pursue process improvement opportunities.
