We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our high-performing team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment where employees thrive, grow, and build long-term careers. This role is excellent for an accounting professional seeking flexibility while still being part of a supportive and collaborative environment. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will assist in a range of accounting tasks to support the smooth operation of the finance function. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive attitude. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial close processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support the finance team in cost analysis and profitability reporting.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for internal stakeholders to aid decision-making
  • Support the preparation and submission of BAS, GST, FBT, PAYG, and other tax obligations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in compliance with accounting standards
  • Support the team in preparing for financial audits and compliance reviews

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant
  • CA/CPA qualified (partial or full)
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • Attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to process improvements.
