Our client is a well-established and growing business based in the western suburbs of Brisbane. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality services, they are looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking flexibility while still being part of a supportive and collaborative environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will assist in a range of accounting tasks to support the smooth operation of the finance function. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive attitude. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Assisting with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
- Assisting with payroll processing and superannuation calculations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required
- Providing general support to the finance team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or similar)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- A qualification in accounting or finance (or working towards one) is desirable
