An exciting opporutnity for an Accountant on an immediate notice has arisen within a Financial Services start up. This role is for an experienced Accountant to assist the CFO and Finance Manager on a temporary basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of month end tasks, and maintaining accurate and compliant financial records. This is a great opportunity for someone who can work autonomously and is confident running end to end processes in a Senior Accountant position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of month end tasks, and maintaining accurate and compliant financial records. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the CFO and Finance Manager.
- Daily, weekly and monthly commercial data collection, verification, and processing are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for weekly cashflow reporting to head office ensuring collaborative engagement with relevant stakeholders to collect information.
- Responsible for month end processing including all journal entries balance sheet reconciliations ensuring all variances are investigated and resolved.
- Assist with monthly, and full-year accounts and management report packs, ensuring the accounting books are maintained accurately and timely.
- Assist with variance to budget and forecast analysis on a monthly basis
- Assisting in the preparation of the yearly budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Responsible for the Accounts Payable team.
- Responsible for preparation of tax compliance documents such as FBT and BAS.
- Monthly payroll tax calculations, lodgement and annual reconciliations.
- Taking an active role in periodic finance activities assisting in the investigation & resolution of queries
- Liaise and manage the requests/queries of auditors (external and internal), tax consultants.
- Assist with project work and system improvements as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience as an Accountant, ideally from a smaller business having gained hands on experience.
- Must have experience with Xero.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 3 years in an Accountant role.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
