Established in 1969, PPCA is a national, non-government, non-profit organisation that represents the interests of record companies and Australian recording artists. We work together with our licensors, being thousands of Australian recording artists and labels both major and independent. Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) ARIA is a national industry association representing major and independent record producers, manufacturers and distributors. We advocate for the Australian music industry, administer the labelling code of practice, provide a ‘blanket’ non-exclusive licensing function for copyright users and compile industry information and research. We run the highly prestigious ARIA Awards annually, compile the ARIA Charts, and run various programs promoting Australian music including Great Southern Nights, ARIA Amplified and ARIA Innovator. The Opportunity The Head of Finance in the PPCA and ARIA leadership teams is responsible for overseeing the entire finance function, including financial management, planning, reporting, and external audits, ensuring that these activities align with the strategic goals of both organisations. The role involves managing a variety of projects, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and collaborating with colleagues to provide financial insights that support informed decision-making. This leadership position plays a key role in guiding both organisations towards financial stability and long-term success. Role Responsibilities Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Financial Reporting: Oversee management reports, year-end financial statements, and international surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Market Share Data Management: Manage and analyse market share data. Stakeholder Relationships: Manage relationships with key partners, particularly for PPCA’s general licensing activities, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Accounts Payable: Supervise the accounts payable function, reviewing and authorising payments to ensure accuracy and compliance. Business Technologies: Oversee business technology implementation to enhance operational efficiency. Distribution Processes: Manage PPCA (annual) and ARIA dubbing (quarterly) distribution processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency. ARIA Charts Management: Oversee ARIA Charts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in collaboration with the General Counsel. Strategy Development & Execution: Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on strategic planning and execution, providing financial insights to guide decision-making. Taxation Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of taxation returns (income tax, payroll tax, GST, FBT) ensuring compliance. External Audit Management: Act as the key contact for external auditors, managing the audit process and resolving any issues. Premises Management: Oversee lease arrangements, facilities management, and ensure a productive office environment.
