Company Overview An established and reputable national advisory firm is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their Melbourne-based finance team. The Role Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is integral in supporting both financial and management accounting functions across the business. It offers exposure to complex accounting tasks, process improvements, and stakeholder engagement within a professional services environment. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to drive value across the organisation. Responsibilities Prepare and manage general ledger integrity, journals, and month-end close processes Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations Ensure compliance with tax obligations including BAS, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation Lead preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and practice group profitability reporting Monitor cash flow, performance metrics, and employment cost variances Identify and implement finance process improvements Maintain fixed asset register and shareholder loan reconciliations Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant ISO certifications Support risk management, insurance renewals, and policy compliance Collaborate with internal finance teams including Accounts Payable and Receivable The Candidate Degree in Accounting or Business; CPA or CMA qualification preferred Significant experience in full-cycle financial and management accounting Proven expertise in reporting, compliance, and process improvement Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to quality Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality Exposure to professional services or consulting environments is advantageous Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced setting How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
