About the role
This newly created position offers a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a critical training function within the engineering and maintenance department of a large FMCG manufacturing business.

As the Technical Training Coordinator, you will drive the end-to-end training and development strategy for a 140-strong engineering team, including 80+ technicians across the floor. You'll be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering technical training programs for apprentices, graduate engineers, operators, and experienced technicians – with a strong focus on developing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across the team.

You'll also play a central role in operationalising a newly built, purpose-designed training center, overseeing both on-site and off-site OEM training, and working closely with department leaders to uplift skills and technical capability at every level.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the entire training function across the engineering and maintenance team nationally.
  • Build and coordinate structured development programs for apprentices and graduate.
  • Organise and facilitate OEM training – in-house, on-site, and external.
  • Develop technical SME pathways for high-potential team members.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to embed a culture of continuous learning.
  • Manage the use of the training centre.
  • Work closely with leaders to ensure training aligns with operational needs and long-term business capability goals.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience working in a technical role within manufacturing, maintenance, engineering or with a OEM.
  • Any experience designing and delivering training programs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Hands-on and practical – comfortable working on the floor and in training environments.
  • Passionate about capability building, coaching, and helping people grow.
