This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to step into a role within a national company. The business is preparing for a payroll system implementation, making this a key time to join and contribute to process improvements. This role will be instrumental in managing high-volume payroll processing, ensuring compliance across multiple EBAs/Awards.
The responsibilities:
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, the main responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and processing BAU end-to-end payroll.
- Ensuring accurate and timely Payroll Tax lodgment and reconciliation.
- Managing Super payments and STP file uploads each pay run.
- Handling complex payroll calculations, e.g. termination payments and back payments.
- Strong interpretation and application of EBAs/Awards.
- Assisting and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Identifying and driving process improvements in a largely manual payroll environment.
- Proven experience in a senior payroll position.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive, dynamic, and curious mindset with strong critical-thinking skills.
- Advanced Excel skills e.g. Pivot tables, V-Look ups and Formulas.
- Exposure to large payroll systems.
