Due to an internal promotion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a technical Senior Group Accountant to join a respected private business owning several recognizable brands. Taking a hands-on approach, this role will support the Group Consolidated Financial Reports, including month end, statutory reporting, and delivering superior financial and management reports to contribute to the Group annual business plans, profit targets and strategic objectives. You will be in a team of 5, reporting into and working closely with the Group Financial Controller.
Position Overview: As the Senior Group Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing our financial reporting processes, consolidations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and conducting in-depth financial analysis. You will work closely with the Senior leadership team and various departments to drive financial performance and maintain the integrity of our financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Financial Statements & Reporting: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS. Ensure timely and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Tax Compliance: Support all tax compliance activities, including preparation of tax returns, ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations. Collaborate with external tax advisors to optimize tax strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements. Keep up-to-date with changes in financial and tax legislation.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Business partner: Work closely with finance teams and other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits. Prepare documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CA qualified
- 5+ years of experience in Group accounting, with a focus on tax compliance, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Ideally someone from a private business and/or listed company
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
