A fast-growing, globally focused digital assets business is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager to establish and lead its Australian compliance function. This is a rare opportunity to shape a high-impact role from the ground up in the crypto and blockchain sector, with significant autonomy and direct influence over the regulatory roadmap.
You will develop and implement a robust compliance management framework, embed compliance into product design and customer experience, and serve as a key advisor to internal stakeholders on regulatory risk and obligations.
What's involved:
- Design and implement a tailored compliance framework for the digital currency exchange (DCE) environment.
- Integrate compliance into product, technology, payments, and marketing functions.
- Monitor and interpret Australian and international regulations (including AML/CTF, privacy/data protection).
- Build and lead a high-performing local compliance team.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide training, drive a culture of ethical conduct, and liaise with regulators including AUSTRAC.
- Lead compliance reporting, audits, and investigation activities.
- Contribute to regional and global compliance initiatives.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, finance, compliance, or related discipline.

- At least 3 years' experience in regulatory compliance within crypto
- Strong knowledge of AML/CTF laws, financial services regulations, and privacy obligations.
- Experience leading or mentoring teams.
- High ethical standards, commercial awareness, and exceptional communication skills.
- Learning agility and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- AML/CTF Officer or MLRO designation
- GRC certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA, CISI)
