The Finance Retail Analyst is a key regional role responsible for supporting retail analysis, reinforcing system controls, and facilitating accounting reporting needs for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring inventory accuracy, validating retail costs, and ensuring seamless integration between retail operations and finance systems.

Based in Melbourne, the Analyst will work closely with local markets across APAC to meet reporting and operational needs, with a focus on POS system reporting, retail sales audits, inventory management, and cost validation.

Key Responsibilities:

1.
Retail Inventory Management
  • Inventory Control: Strengthen inventory controls, suggest process optimizations, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Month-End Close: Ensure all inventory issues are resolved in time for month-end close and no changes are made to closing balances post-close.
  • Price List Maintenance: Maintain and analyze market selling price lists, including full price, discounting, and markdowns.
2. Retail Cost Validation
  • Standard Cost Maintenance: Manage the maintenance of standard costs, including FOB, freight, duty, and warehouse costs.
  • Cost Variance Analysis: Perform cost variance analysis and address deviations from the standard, recommending actions to minimize future exposure.
3. Retail Sales Audit Matching and Reconciliation
  • Sales Matching: Perform daily sales matching, guided audits, and cash reconciliation for retail operations.
  • Investigate Variances: Address variances in sales and liaise with retail stores to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Month-End Close: Ensure all outstanding sales audit and cash control issues are resolved prior to month-end close.
  • Price List Analysis: Support market selling price list maintenance and markdown analysis.
4. POS System Support & Dashboard Development
  • APTOS Super-User: Become the subject matter expert (SME) in APTOS to provide system support and guidance to local finance teams.
  • Data Visualization: Assist markets in visualizing data via APTOS retail analytics, Power BI, Spotfire, Excel dashboards, and Power Query.
