Our client is an iconic institution, a world-famous part of the fabric of Melbourne and is central to its community. Due to an increased workload with a number of projects and changes underway, they are seeking a high-calibre, junior finance professional to join their CBD based team.
The Role
As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day property accounting aspects of the business, including reconciliation, leases, debtors, financial reporting and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Your role will include but not be limited to the following duties.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and reconciliations for property accounts
- Support the management of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate data analysis to support decision-making
- Maintain accurate records of property transactions
- Partner with property management and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Participate in the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support external auditors as required
- Ad hoc tasks as required to assist Management
The Candidate
- CA or CPA qualified or currently completing
- Previous experience in property or real estate sectors will be advantageous but is not essential
- Strong written and vibrable communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
- Microsoft packages, including advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Self-motivated and driven by success
