The Opportunity:
Our Client is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join the property finance team, responsible for the financial management and reporting of commercial property assets. This role involves end-to-end property accounting, including tax implications, maintaining property systems (MRI), tenant billing, and financial performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual property reports
- Manage property accounting, including tenant billing and lease administration
- Maintain and oversee property system data (MRI)
- Collaborate with Property Managers on financial performance
- Manage capital/operational expenses, asset registers, and property budgets
- Ensure compliance with tax and audit requirements
- Assist with board reporting, special projects, and property acquisitions/disposals
- 5+ years in property accounting (financial and tax reporting)
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Strong lease interpretation and MRI system experience
- Excellent communication, time management, and Excel skills
- CPA/CA qualified, with a self-starter mindset
