A dynamic and innovative company in the food manufacturing industry, dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement. They specialise in creating high-quality food products, particularly focusing on protein and short-life chill items for retail markets. An opportunity has come up in the marketing team for an experienced Product Technologist, initially on a 6-month contract and based in Regional Victoria.
The Role
As a Product Technologist you will work closely with the company's collaborative Sales & Marketing team and report into the General Manager of Sales and Marketing. The role will manage a diverse portfolio of projects encompassing new product development, efficiency enhancements, renovations, and optimisations.
This role requires you to identify market trends, develop new product concepts and packaging solutions, and lead the internal stage gate process from concept to launch. You'll also ensure product compliance, troubleshoot development issues, conduct sensory testing, and analyse results—all while fostering strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve our seasonal campaign and business objectives.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years working in FMCG product development in a food manufacturing environment.
- Tertiary qualification in food science or a related field.
- Excellent planning capabilities and ability to lead projects through to completion.
- Will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, creativity, and a customer-focused approach.
- Experience in delivering cost savings and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to assess product quality and safety with a high attention to detail.
