As a Procurement Specialist, your focus will be on managing a diverse portfolio of products and suppliers for the Beauty category, including cosmetics, accessories, and packaging. You will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective procurement strategies and supplier management.

This role involves significant engagement with finished goods manufacturers and collaboration with packaging and technical teams to drive category strategies and achieve cost efficiencies.

Our clients team is new and highly engaged, so there is a requirement for you to work out of their Sydney CBD office 5 days a week, with flexibility when required.

Key aspects of the role will include:

• Engagement with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute sourcing strategies for allocated categories.
• Category Strategy Analysis: Utilise market knowledge to conduct formal category strategy analysis, identify business needs, and build cross-functional roadmaps.
• Supplier Management: Identify and manage suppliers, including those to grow, maintain, or exit. Execute category plans to meet business objectives.
• Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate commercial aspects with suppliers, formalize agreements through contracts, and ensure the best total cost of ownership.
• Contract Implementation: Manage commercial parameters such as MOQ, lead times, quality, flow revisions, and payment terms.
• Supplier Relationship Programme: Lead the Supplier Relationship Programme, ensuring year-on-year improvements in supplier performance.
• Risk Identification: Proactively identify potential risks at a global category level and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  
To be successful in the role, you will need to demonstrate:

• Experience in Packaging sourcing within a diverse range of glass, plastics, prints, etc.
• Experience working in an international operations or procurement role, preferably within the Beauty/Cosmetics industry
• Experience in supplier management, relationship management, selection, and performance evaluation
• Strong ability to analyse data, think critically, and solve complex problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional interactions
• High-energy, self-starter with a collaborative approach to team dynamics
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering is advantageous (or similar)
