As the Principal Business Advisor, you will:
- Design, deliver, operationalize, and facilitate ongoing delivery of portfolio-wide, fit for purpose governance, risk and compliance management frameworks and processes, maintaining related systems, tools, guidance and support.
- Design and implement governance arrangements, planning processes and practices, evaluation processes, and training, to improve organisational management, monitoring and reporting of frameworks and requirements.
- Work closely with executives and collaborate across the organisation to guide development and delivery of frameworks, policies and processes and meet organisational objectives.
- Provide expert advice and support on implementation of governance, risk and compliance requirements, and ensure linkages between planning, risk and performance
- Plan, develop, deliver and coordinate a systematic approach to governance, risk and compliance management frameworks, policies, procedures and requirements, ensuring products delivered are fit for purpose, ensure legislative and other regulatory requirements are met, and provide better practice.
- Lead the continuous and systematic review, updating and improvement of the governance, risk and compliance frameworks and all relevant policies, procedures and tools.
- Clarify, define and communicate definitions, accountabilities, roles and responsibilities that underpin efficient and effective governance, risk and compliance management, to enable and support an integrated approach to relevant activities across the organisation.
- Develop and deliver policies, procedures, requirements, tools and guidance materials to ensure successful delivery of governance, risk and compliance management frameworks.
- Monitor, review and implement key regulatory changes and recommendations, and analyse complex data from a variety of sources to inform framework development and reviews.
- Provide accurate, timely and authoritative high level advice in relation to risk and compliance management and integrated governance activities to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate, timely, high-quality briefing papers and reports on the status of governance, risk and compliance activities for presentations to executives, Audit and Risk Management Committee, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver training, and practical support to implement and embed effective risk and compliance management and integrated governance related activities across the organisation.
- Apply appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools, that are aligned with the organisation's approved project, program and portfolio management policies and procedures.
- Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong understanding of risk, compliance and governance requirements, and proven ability and experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating related frameworks, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with experience advising senior executives and preparing governance reports
- Contributes to the development of team objectives
- Experience in change management and continuous improvement within compliance, risk, or legal services
- Communicates in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders; builds rapport and establishes strong and mutually beneficial connections
- Demonstrates flexibility to changing expectations by proactively adapting own approach to reflect new requirements; actively participates in change engagement activities and openly supports intended outcomes.
- Contract up to May 2025 - possibility of extension
- $85.31 per hour + Super
