The Organisation
Our client is an S&P/ASX 300 listed business providing integrated end-to-end asset life-cycle services to utility and telecommunications asset owners. They are on the lookout for a Payroll Team Leader to lead a team of payroll professionals to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a team of payroll officers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for over 3,000 employees, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
• Manage payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to streamline payroll processes and resolve issues.
• Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary updates to payroll procedures.
• Handle escalated payroll queries and provide exceptional service to employees.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to system enhancements.

About You
• Proven experience in a payroll leadership role, managing a team in a complex payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with Chris21 payroll system is essential.
• Demonstrated experience working with a large volume of Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) and Awards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
