The Organisation

In a vital leadership role, our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of the payroll function to oversee and enhance operations, whilst mentoring and leading a medium sized team. Job Duties
This role will involve taking ownership of the payroll function, whilst providing first class leadership of the Payroll team with key tasks involving:

• Developing, mentoring and leading a close knit team of 5 x Payroll Officers
• Oversee the end to end payroll processing for approximately 5,000 employees
• Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiency
• Reconciliation of payroll accounts and prepare detail reporting as required
• Provide training and mentoring to develop and enhance team performance
• Ensuring compliance with payroll related legislation on a local, state and federal scale
• Resolve and manage employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
• Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
• Partner and develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders

Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:

• Outstanding knowledge of best practice for Payroll
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with a proven ability to positive influence 
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs, with a sound knowledge of current legislation
• Strong analytical skills with a forward thinking & solution focused mindset
