In a vital leadership role, our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of the payroll function to oversee and enhance operations, whilst mentoring and leading a medium sized team. Job Duties
This role will involve taking ownership of the payroll function, whilst providing first class leadership of the Payroll team with key tasks involving:
- Developing, mentoring and leading a close knit team of 5 x Payroll Officers
- Oversee the end to end payroll processing for approximately 5,000 employees
- Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiency
- Reconciliation of payroll accounts and prepare detail reporting as required
- Provide training and mentoring to develop and enhance team performance
- Ensuring compliance with payroll related legislation on a local, state and federal scale
- Resolve and manage employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Upholding high customer service standards and protocols across the business
- Partner and develop strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
Candidate Profile
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Outstanding knowledge of best practice for Payroll
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with a proven ability to positive influence
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs, with a sound knowledge of current legislation
- Strong analytical skills with a forward thinking & solution focused mindset
