Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team on an initial 6-month basis, with the view for permanency.
The Role
You will be responsible for the following:
- Manage and oversee the payroll processing of 3,000 employees
- Manage a team of 10
- Effectively lead, coach and empower the team to deliver the employee experience in Payroll
- Strive for continuous improvement and an ability to balance the operational needs of the team while keeping an eye on the future
- Effective selection and recruitment of talented people into the Payroll Team
- Ensuring complete and accurate statutory reporting - STP, PAYG, Tax, Super, Workcover
- Relevant EBA and Award interpretation
- Processing redundancies, terminations and onboarding
- Reporting and budgeting
- Provide high quality customer service through accurate information and support to stakeholder enquiries
The successful applicant will have
- Prior experience leading a team and a large payroll function
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to positive influence
- Keen desire to lead, mentor and develop staff to positively enhance skills and performance
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise urgent work
- Analytical skills and an ability to think outside the box
