Our client, a Global Industrial Manufacturer, is rapidly scaling across the USA and APAC through both acquisition and organic growth. Industry wide, they are recognised for innovation and quality of products that continue to reshape the building and construction industries. Locally, the business is on an incredible growth trajectory and is in the process of moving into a brand-new distribution facility in Melbourne’s North West (3x the size of its current site). As a result of this growth, the business now seeks a motivated, hands-on leader to drive Operational Excellence and work closely alongside the Country GM who has an outstanding leadership track record.
As Operations Manager, you will oversee overall operations and be responsible for the effective and successful management of Logistics, Warehousing and Planning (Inventory & S&OP), alongside labour, productivity, quality control, and safety measures across the operation. You will ensure safe and efficient operations while serving as a company representative on regulatory issues. Your role will involve enhancing operational procedures, systems, and principles in information flow, business processes, inventory management, customer service, logistics, and warehousing.
Your supervisory responsibilities will include interviewing, selecting, and hiring staff; training new and existing employees; and planning, assigning, and directing work. You will also be responsible for organising the warehouse, inventory, and manufacturing budget in collaboration with the GM, as well as implementing and overseeing the monthly forecasting and S&OP process and controlling inventory management.
To be successful in this role, you will be a safety focused, degree educated Operational leader with strong Logistics, Inventory Management and Planning experience. Importantly, this role will suit a hands-on leader with a can do attitude, that is seeking an environment where changes can be made quickly without the requirement for multiple layers of approval. This role demands a wide degree of creativity and latitude, as you will lead and direct the work of others, including warehouse, export, and customer service staff.
