About the Position

Reporting to the Divisional Manager City Planning and Sustainability, this critical senior leadership position will play a key role in implementing “Brisbane City Plan 2014”, to achieve best planning outcomes for the city, whilst ensuring the most efficient and effective regulatory and planning outcomes. This position will advance Brisbane’s economic development by facilitating the timely and effective processing of development approvals thus reinforcing Brisbane’s reputation as the city of choice for private development.

In addition, you will oversee the efficient assessment and determination of plumbing applications across the city, through ongoing refinement and review of processes thereby enhancing the status of this regulatory function. This role also provides a high-level interface between the development industry and Council to ensure development in the city delivers economic growth, housing supply and balances community outcomes.
  
 About the Person

Council is seeking a values-based senior leader who can successfully manage the priorities of Council, private development and community expectations relating to planning outcomes for the city. You will possess outstanding stakeholder management skills and the ability to inspire and lead a large geographically dispersed team to model the behaviours and values expected by Council. Experience in successfully modernising or upgrading technology systems and processes will be viewed favourably including the ability to embed new ways of working across the Branch to achieve high levels of customer service. Postgraduate qualifications in planning, management or business studies are considered essential.
