About the Role
This Finance Manager role has been created to free up the Financial Controller, enabling them to focus on business growth and strategic initiatives, while you take charge of the day-to-day accounting operations and team management. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional who thrives in a hands-on role, can troubleshoot independently, and continuously looks for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will collaborate with operations and senior leadership to deliver regular management reporting and analysis, ensuring the business meets its strategic objectives while adhering to best practices.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, including troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Partner with project, operations, and sales teams to provide actionable financial insights that support strategic and operational performance.
  • Ensure the monthly P&L is closed within five working days and results are uploaded to the consolidation program.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly management packs, including variance analysis, margins, and labour reporting.
  • Monitor cash flow and oversee fixed asset management and depreciation.
  • Assist with board pack preparation and other ad hoc reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with banking partners regarding hire purchase assets.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and business processes.
  • Provide proactive commercial insights into business performance and communicate clear, actionable recommendations.
Skills and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance and CPA/CA qualified.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or lead finance position, with strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial operations.
  • Industry experience in Construction, Manufacturing, or Industrial sectors is preferred.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership and operational teams.
  • A proactive and forward-thinking mindset, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
