In an incredibly exciting time for the business, the business now seeks a Senior DC Manager to drive CI initiatives and play a key role in delivering on a company wide supply chain transformation.
  
The Distribution Centre Manager (DC Manager) is responsible for the safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations of the Distribution Centre. This role oversees all aspects of the operation, including daily operations, infrastructure and facilities, budget and commercials, operational processes, and team capability. This is a critical senior leadership role, directly managing a team of 5 with circa 100+ indirect reports.
  
Safety
  • Serve as the PCBU for the business unit, ensuring high safety standards compliant with org guidelines, regulations, and laws.
  • Ensure all leaders, team members, and contractors are trained and engaged in site safety management.
  • Drive safety programs and identify opportunities for site safety improvement.
  • Oversee safety investigations and ensure proper documentation, escalation, and remediation.
  • Collaborate with Safety stakeholders and regulators for audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.

DC Strategy
  • Develop and execute the short- to mid-term DC strategy (6-18 months), aligned with network strategy.
  • Build the annual peak execution plan in partnership with Supply Chain leaders.
  • Ensure the DC strategy accounts for key objectives, priority work, and network-level changes.

Commercials & Financial
  • Create the annual DC budget, considering productivity measures and costs.
  • Manage operating expenses, including labor, consumables, preventable loss, and general trading conditions.
  • Negotiate with Commercial team and partners to agree on key financial measures, including Cost Per Unit (CPU).

DC Performance
  • Manage DC performance metrics such as CPU, UPP/UPH/UMPD/DIF, and accuracy.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Planning teams for volume forecasts and capacity management.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Technology team on WMS configuration and business operations.
  • Develop capability roadmaps for volume plans, including people, operational processes, and DC configuration.

Continuous Improvement / Operations Excellence
  • Implement continuous improvement measures in collaboration with Supply Chain Operations Excellence and Strategy teams.
  • Align change or improvement initiatives with stakeholders.
  • Drive inventory programs and projects through the DC.

Team Capability
  • Develop the team capability within the DC, focusing on manager development and training.
  • Review capability for all levels and manage the annual training and development plan.
  • Partner with Human Resources to identify and deliver training needs.
Industrial Relations / Employment Relations
  • Maintain productive relationships with site unions and understand applicable industrial instruments.
  • Collaborate with HR on IR and ER matters and support investigations of policy/procedure breaches.
  • Ensure team awareness of relevant issues and compliance.

Capability Development
  • Develop personal skills/knowledge through personal development plans and industry networking.
  • Participate in relevant events to stay updated with industry trends.
  • Commit to corporate initiatives, such as customer centricity.

Workplace Health and Safety
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with WHS programs.
  • Ensure completion of mandatory training, safety shares, ergonomic assessments, and incident reporting.
  

To be successful:
To be successful in this role you will be a highly accomplished, high EQ and empathetic DC Manager with a track record of managing large DC's within either FMCG/Retail.
