An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Credit Officer to join a dynamic and growing organisation based in Darra, QLD. Working within the National Credit and Collection team of five, you will play a crucial role in managing credit risk, ensuring timely collections, and supporting customers with their payment arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit Risk Assessment – Assist in evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, including conducting credit checks and reviewing financial data.
- Credit Limit Management – Support the establishment and maintenance of appropriate credit limits to balance risk and sales growth.
- Collections Management – Engage in proactive debt collection efforts, liaising with customers regarding overdue payments and escalating issues when required.
- Direct Debit Processing – Assist with the monthly direct debit process for a significant portion of the customer base.
- Credit Insurance Liaison – Work closely with the insurance broker to manage reporting and collection strategies for at-risk balances.
- Negotiation – Collaborate with the Credit Manager to negotiate payment terms with customers and, where applicable, loan terms for new clients.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in credit control or accounts receivable, ideally within a high-volume, low-margin B2B environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage customer relationships effectively
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and collections management.
- Prior experience with credit insurance and direct debit processing (regarded but not essential)
