Are you an immediately available, seasoned Financial Accountant looking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic team?
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join an impressive Finance and Accounting team in Brisbane CBD. Reporting directly to the Manager of Finance and Accounting, this role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the financial processes. This is a long-term contract, starting ASAP until January 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all end-of-month processing and prepare comprehensive management reports.
- Coordinate the month-end process to ensure timely closure.
- Post required journals and month-end adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations and maintain associated workbooks.
- Support the external audit process, including preparation of detailed audit workpapers.
- Manage inter-company billing and recharge processes, including raising AR invoices.
- Assist with Monthly BAS preparation and annual FBT returns.
- Maintain accounting and tax fixed asset registers.
- Review asset capitalisation monthly, liaise with site teams, and maintain documentation in SAP.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
- CA or CPA qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or professional services.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Previous experience with SAP and Power BI is highly regarded.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- A proactive, professional, and positive 'Can Do' attitude.
