A large distribution business servicing major construction and infrastructure projects is seeking a Commercial Analyst to provide critical insights into business performance. This role will partner with operations teams to optimise supply chain, inventory, procurement, and overall commercial operations.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this position is responsible for delivering data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. You will collaborate with operations managers across multiple locations, helping to enhance business efficiency and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret data from MYOB Exo and manipulate using Excel to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop financial models and business cases to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Provide insights into supply chain, inventory, procurement, and operational performance.
- Partner with non-finance stakeholders to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive process improvements and efficiencies.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance dashboards to the Department Leads and MD
- Assist Head of Finance with preparation on Monthly Management reporting pack
- Strong Excel skills – ability to build financial models and work with large data sets.
- Experience in a commercially focused finance or analyst role, ideally within a distribution, supply chain, or product-based business.
- Experience working with large volumes of stock and inventory
- Ability to engage and influence non-finance stakeholders, translating data into meaningful insights.
- A proactive and analytical mindset with a strong commercial acumen.
