About the role:

I'm currently recruiting for a pharmacy brand committed to providing high-quality pharmaceutical and general health products to the community through ecommerce and in stores. 

Duties:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic-minded Pharmacy Buyer or someone who has been a Buyer in another heavily regulated category to join our team.
  1. Managing pharmaceutical products and supplies in accordance with inventory needs and budgetary constraints.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, wholesalers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  3. Collaborate with pharmacy management and staff to forecast demand, anticipate inventory requirements, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  4. Monitor inventory levels, expiration dates, and product quality to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and minimize wastage.
  5. Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic vendor reviews to assess reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  6. Analyze market trends, industry developments, and pricing fluctuations to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  7. Utilize inventory management software and tools to track purchases, manage stock levels, and generate reports for analysis and decision-making.
  8. Coordinate with franchise pharmacists to facilitate product recalls, returns, and exchanges as necessary.
  9. Stay updated on regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and best practices related to pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management.
  10. Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support organizational goals and initiatives.
Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical or heavily regulated category for a retailer. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, practices, and product categories would be advantageous. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
