Sharp & Carter Healthcare is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in Mental Health. This 6-month fixed-term contract with full-time hours at a leading private hospital in North Melbourne is perfect for a skilled leader looking to make a real impact in mental health care.


About this Role: As the ANUM for Mental Health, you will play a vital leadership role, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the mental health unit. You will ensure high-quality patient care, lead a team of nursing professionals, and contribute to the development of mental health services in the hospital.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the NUM in managing the unit's clinical and operational functions.
  • Lead, support, and mentor nursing staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional mental health care.
  • Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and the implementation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide leadership in crisis management, mental health interventions, and complex care scenarios.
  • Monitor staffing levels, manage resources efficiently, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and mental health standards.
 
Key Requirements:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience, ideally as an ANUM or in a similar role.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of mental health nursing, crisis management, and mental health interventions.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
