Sharp & Carter Healthcare is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced  Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) in Medical/Surgical Unit. This permanent full-time position in a hospital based in Regional Victoria is perfect for a motivated leader looking to advance their career in a supportive and high-performing hospital setting.


About this Role
As the ANUM for the Medical/Surgical Unit, you will play a key role in leading, managing, and coordinating the delivery of patient care alongside the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). You will ensure that clinical practices meet the highest standards, all while fostering a collaborative environment that supports both patients and staff.


Key Responsibilities
 
  • Assist the NUM in the day-to-day management of the Medical/Surgical unit.
  • Lead and supervise a team of nurses, providing support and guidance to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure that patient care plans are developed, implemented, and evaluated in accordance with clinical standards.
  • Manage staffing levels and allocate resources efficiently to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for staff, encouraging professional growth and development.
  • Coordinate and support clinical care, including overseeing admissions, discharges, and patient flow.
 
Key Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Medical/Surgical or acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and improving health outcomes.
