Our client is a market leading hospitality business who have grown significantly through recent acquisitions, operating in several major cities across Australia. With over 35 venues comprised of restaurants, bars, pubs and event spaces they are expanding rapidly. They are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their supportive and high performing team in this newly created position.
The role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working within a team of 7, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing profit and loss statements, journals, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with the preparation of financial reports
- Managing assigned venues, liaising directly with venue managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Preparing quarterly BAS submissions
- Reconciling bank statements and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations
- Accounting degree
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise urgent work
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and examples of prior stakeholder management experience.
- Experience in MYOB is an advantage but not essential
