Sharp & Carter have been engaged to recruit an Assistant Accountant for a global retail company. The organisation are going through a period of development and growth and are looking to add to the driven and motivated culture.
The Role
This role will report directly to the Business Partner in North America and the Finance Manager in Australia. The role entails an Assistant Accountant background, however has a heavy focus on Accounts Payable and month end tasks.
- Invoice Processing: Enter and manage AP invoices with precision and efficiency.
- Payments: Raise payments to suppliers, including cheque payments, and manage intercompany payments and reconciliations.
- Reconciliations: Perform supplier reconciliations, credit card payments, and monthly reconciliations, including prepayments, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
- Reporting: Prepare and send commission reports to sales reps and process payments monthly.
- Month-End: Assist with month-end journals and reconciliations.
- Process Improvements: Drive improvements by populating supplier details into SAP, implementing a PO process for expenses, and assisting with the implementation of automation tools.
- Collaboration: Regularly liaise with the Finance Business Partner (FBP) and other internal and external stakeholders across global time zones.
- Degree in Accounting is required.
- 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on AP and month-end processes.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with SAP, MYOB, and Netsuite is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements.
