The role:
The position involves collaborating with fellow members of the Finance Leadership Team to develop a comprehensive organizational perspective of the budget and associated financial models and documents. Additionally, it includes the creation of group-level financial commentary for presentation to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board.
Duties:
- Manages the Accounts Payable department, maintaining a healthy aged trial balance and ensuring timely processing of creditors' invoices.
- Provides insightful variance analysis and resolves issues within a reasonable timeframe.
- Acts as a business partner with department heads to achieve financial prudence.
- Full ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
- Responsible for all external audit obligations, including preparation of financial statements and external reports to regulatory bodies within timeframe.
- Month-end accounting and finalization of group results within timeframe and with accuracy.
- Prepares group level financial report and commentary for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Board.
- Manages Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Business Activity Statement (BAS) lodgments with meticulous attention to detail.
- Holds qualification as either a Chartered Accountant (CA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Demonstrates exceptional communication skills coupled with the ability to effectively drive and lead a team.
- Possesses a robust understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Exhibits advanced proficiency in Excel.
