About the role
An exciting immediate start role with an industry-leading Sustinable Energy organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Senior Finance role will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities. Initially this will be a 6 month contractual assignment, however there is the opportunity for this role to be extended and/or made permanent.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Develop, monitor, and report on financial models and forecasts for ongoing projects.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful recommendations for cost savings and financial optimization.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key drivers and business insights.
- Lead the budgeting process for renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers and department heads to ensure accurate and timely budget submissions.
- Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
- Lead internal and external audit processes, coordinating with auditors and ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant regulations, and financial standards.
- Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and audit processes.
- Extract, analyze, and present data from financial systems and other databases.
- Use advanced Excel functions, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and data visualization tools, to interpret and report on project financials.
- Provide recommendations based on data insights to enhance project performance.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance project accounting procedures and systems.
- Lead initiatives to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong attention to detail, must enjoy being hands-on with the work and have worked in a large complex organisation previously.
