As a Project Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:
- Project co-ordination (ensuring project codes are set up by the project accounting team following business case approval, ensuring timesheets are captured and updated, journaling time (i.e. salary costs) into the relevant project code)
- Project reporting - reporting in relation to above activity
- Accrual management
- Preparing and posting journals in SAP
- Month end reporting
- Commentary
- Raising invoices and Purchase Orders where required
- Gaining approvals for invoices where required
- Ongoing tracking and forecasting
- Intercompany offcharging
- Timesheet journal
- Period end Accruals
- Any required project cost reallocation
- Period End Financial commentary
- Forecast Meetings
- Setting up Target / Kmart Project Finance Trackers
- Queries from project leads or Heads of
- Projectisation Forecast Analysis
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity, either working in a corporate environment or within an accounting firm within a project based environment
- A strong understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Experience using Financial Systems (i.e. SAP), including accounting and general ledger experience
- A proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across all levels of an organisation, including the confidence to present and exert influence as needed
- Led a team to success and genuinely enjoy leading and coaching teams
- Ability to drive improvements, meet multiple competing deadlines and ensure high attention to detail
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce or business, with accounting or finance majors.
- Hold an ICAA or CPA qualification
